AHAA: The Voice of Hispanic Marketing
Garber Will Co-Lead Webinar Review Of Latino Radio Listenership 2012
New York, NY- December 10, 2012 – Katz Radio Group’s Mary Beth Garber, Executive Vice President, Radio Analysis and Insights, will co-lead a webinar entitled “Latino Radio Listener Landscape 2012,” on Wednesday, December 12, at 2:00 pm EST. The webinar is presented on behalf of the AHAA: The Voice of Hispanic Marketing.
Garber, along with Tony Hereau, Media Insights Manager, Arbitron, will examine how radio was used in 2012 to reach Hispanics, particularly during the election season. The speakers will analyze how much and where each political party and candidate spent advertising dollars. The webinar will also look at what this year’s spending means for advertisers and the role Hispanics may have on future elections.
“Radio is a powerful tool for candidates during the election season with its ability to specifically target key voters, and both parties recognized that in terms of reaching Hispanics,” said Garber. “I’m pleased to join Tony in presenting this interesting look at where the ad dollars went and how radio is being used—and will continue to be used—to pursue the Hispanic vote and the Hispanic market segment as a whole.”
In her current role at Katz Radio Group, Garber is responsible for collecting and generating research and other materials to educate a variety of constituencies on the continuing power and value of radio, as well as implementing partnerships that both provide accurate research and measurement metrics across a variety of platforms and enhance the industry’s ability to communicate those results. Previously, Garber was the President of the Southern California Broadcasters Association, a position she held for 13 years.
An industry veteran, Garber’s background includes senior positions at advertising agencies, radio stations and the marketing department of the studio division of the Walt Disney Co. She has received industry recognition of her many career achievements, including “Broadcaster of the Year” by Radio Ink Magazine in 2008 and was the recipient of the 2000 Southern California Chapter of American Women in Radio and Television Genii Award for Excellence in Radio. In 2012, and for the past 12 years, she was named one of Radio Ink's Most Influential Women in Radio. Also, Garber is on the Executive Board of the Los Angeles Media Research Council, on the Executive Board of Mentoring and Influencing Women, on the Board of Equal Access, on the Board of Variety Children’s Charity and is a member of the Organization of Women Executives.
