achieve things personally which I would not have anywhere else or
with any other company.” – Ann Bales, 2005 Fellow
What is the KMG Jay Craven Fellowship Program?
The Fellowship Program provides real-world, hands-on
experience working side-by-side with employees, similar to an internship
or apprenticeship. The two months begin with an introduction to the
company and participation in a training program. The majority of
the remaining weeks will be spent in one of the Radio or Television
sales companies, rotating between Research, Promotions and Sales
with exposure to many Managers, Account Executives (AEs), Trainers
and Sales Assistants. In addition to working directly on projects
in Research and Sales, you will also attend sales meetings with client
stations and go to advertising agencies with AEs on sales calls with
Media Buyers.
Meeting time and seminars will also give exposure to Clear Channel
Katz Advantage, our specialty sales and marketing division; Univision
National Radio Sales, our Hispanic focused sales and marketing company;
as well as Television Programming.
The well-rounded, two month Fellowship will provide you with many
of the options available to you inside the KMG sales organization
upon graduation. Our goal is to make the KMG your first choice in
the future!

One of my first observations at KMG was the employees. From
the President of each division to the Managers, Account Executives,

The relationships that are built in and out of the office
impress me the most. We were able to hear about how people
came to their current position and where their spectrum of
the business was going in the future. I never dreamed
that I would make so many contacts and be involved in so
much networking.

Jay
Craven
(1962-2002)
His passion for life was contagious.
Jay Craven started his career with Katz Radio in 1987 as an Account
Executive, and his rise through the company took him to the position
of Regional Vice President with the Clear Channel Radio Sales division.
He moved around the country during his tenure and lived in New York,
Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Jay had a talent to teach and a passion to win. He had a contagious
enthusiasm that inspired trust and allowed him to lead. He had the
pride to pat himself on the back when he was successful, and in the
truest spirit, genuinely marvel at the accomplishments of those around
him. "I have the best job in the world," he would say.
Additionally, he moonlit with his best friends on the weekend, fulfilling
their dream by talking sports on the radio. He put a smile on the
face of every person he touched, and he touched thousands. May his
courage, spirit and zest for life continue to live on in all of us.
Jay's integrity and loyalty personified "the Katz difference."
